We are Two Parishes - One Catholic Community
Immaculate Conception, Roslyn, WA and Saint John the Baptist, Cle Elum, WA
Sunday May 22nd following the 10am Mass we will be having a farewell and thank you reception for Aaron Hirsch our Organist/musician.
All from both parish communities are welcome to attend!!
He is leaving us and moving to Colorado after many years of providing his talent through playing and also his vocals at our Sunday Masses.
He also was instrumental in providing us his knowledge and getting us going with recording Masses during COVID shut down and getting our live streaming up and running (along with Michael Uribe, Ron Sullivan, Deacon Jim and Fr. Higuera.)
We wish you all the best Aaron and you will be truly missed by our parishes.

What does synod mean? An assembly of bishops in the Roman Catholic Church
Objectives:
• Focusing on the Word of God and solemn enthronement.
• Invoking the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead our diocesan phase.
• To entrust the Synodal process to God through the intercession of Mary, Queen and Mother.
• To initiate the beginning of our diocesan process in union with all local churches in the world.
• To gather representatives of the people of God in the spirit of Communion.
• To inspire participation in this first phase of the Synodal process.
• To be sent out on the pilgrim path of our journey as a missionary Church.
Below are links to Preparatory Documents which gives an overview of the theme of the Synod, "For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission."

https://www.synod.va/ Scroll down and Select - Vademecum - Then at the top next to “menu” - click the arrow and select-EN for English or ES for Spanish
Then select the Official Handbook for Listening and Discernment in Local Churches PDF in the language you wish to preview in.
The handbook includes prayers, a description of synodality, the objectives of the synodal process, and the main questions to which the local Catholic communities are asked to give feedback. It underlines that diocese should focus on “maximum inclusion and participation” among baptized Catholics in the diocesan synod process.

SYNODAL PRAYER
We stand before You, Holy Spirit,
As we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us,
Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful;
do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path
nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity
so that we may journey together to eternal life
and not stray from the way of truth
and what is right.
All this we ask of You,
who are at work in every place and time,
in the communion of the Father and the Son,
forever and ever. Amen
